Granite
IBM Granite 3.2 is a business-grade language model fine-tuned for instruction following and RAG applications. With a 128K token context window, chain-of-thought reasoning, and efficient 2B parameter architecture, it delivers professional-quality responses on standard laptop hardware.
Archivist provides a user-friendly interface to toggle between response modes — standard, RAG, and chain-of-thought — through simple radio buttons, making advanced AI capabilities accessible to non-technical users.
Docling
IBM's document conversion engine transforms PDFs, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, CSV, and more into AI-ready plaintext and markdown. Under the hood, Docling uses multiple AI models to identify page layouts and table structures.
Archivist gives users mouse-click control over different processing modes so you can balance speed versus accuracy for different document types.
SmolDocling
Co-created by IBM and Hugging Face for document understanding. SmolDocling generates descriptions of images within your documents — charts, diagrams, photos — enabling comprehensive content indexing across both text and visual elements.
Archivist integrates SmolDocling both as an annotator within Docling and as a standalone vision-to-text converter, activated with a single click.
